Yemen - Official visa - Service: Visa Requirements

All application forms must be typed and must include: • The Sponsor / Host in Yemen. (e.g., U.S. Embassy in Sana’a, U.S. Consulate in Sana’a, etc.) • Residential address in Yemen(e.g. Hotel, family or friend’s house, etc.).

Provide your SIGNED passport. Your passport must be signed on the appropriate line. (For US citizens the line is located on the page following your information page). The passport must be valid with an expiration date greater than six (6) months from the date of entry for the visa you are applying for. Passport must have sufficient blank pages (at least 2 pages) for any visa stamps. These pages must say VISAS at the top of the page.  

If your passport does not meet the requirements, we can assist with renewing a US Passport or obtain a new US Passport from us prior to obtaining the visa.

(Important Note:  Keep a copy of your passport biographical information page for your records)

Please provide one clear copy of your passport's information page. 

You must provide a passport photo. This passport photo must match the requirements of a standard US passport photo. They must be taken at an official passport photo provider (pharmacy, Costco, post office).  You can upload a digitial photo here for us to process.

Photo Requirements:

- Your head must face the camera directly with full face in view.

- You must have a neutral facial expression or a natural smile, with both eyes open.

- Taken in clothing normally worn on a daily basis

- Taken in the last 6 months

- Use a plain white or off-white background

An original letter from the concerned Government agency (e.g. of State, Dept. of the Army, Dept. of the Navy, etc.).

The letter must include: • Your position (e.g., Colonel, Engineer, etc.) and the purpose of your visit. • Name and phone number of your point of contact in Yemen and confirmation of your sponsor during your stay in Yemen.

An invitation letter issued by a relevant entity or individual in Yemen. The invitation should contain:
• Information on the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)
• Information on the planned visit (purpose of visit, arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, relations between the applicant and the inviting entity or individual, financial source for expenditures).
• Information on the inviting entity or individual (name, contact telephone number, address, official stamp, signature of the legal representative or the inviting individual);
• The letter should be printed on the inviting organizations letterhead stationery, addressed to "The Consulate of Yemen, Visa Section", signed and stamped with the institution/company seal.

Enclose the documents from Section 1 (Gather Documents for your Yemen  Visa) and a print out of your order confirmation in an Overnight Envelope (Fedex, UPS, etc).
